Harry Potter and the Burnout Obsession

Hi kidz! Well, without giving too much away the 6th installment of the series I'll say that Harry Potter has a lot of work to do for the 7th book. For a book called the Half-Blood Prince, I found myself not really caring a whole lot after the unspeakable happened at the end of the book. Frankly, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. The book was dark. I'd wager it was darker than the 5th book. Despite the grim outlook of the book there are some great moments in love. Specifically, Ron and Hermoine. I also enjoyed Ginny's character a lot. It was great book, with an unexpected ending. As for Harry, I remember hating him last book, but this time he's mostly the middle man with no one really taking him seriously. Not that I like Harry to be vulnerable and useless, but I'd rather him that way than obnoxious and arrogant. There's a lot of history this time out as we get to learn about Tom Riddle and his pretty interesting past. Go pick it up. It's a good read.

And now Burnout 3! Woo! But to tell you the truth, I'm gonna tell you about this tomorrow. Laundry day! Wooo!

It Begins...

I think that this millennium marks the beginning of superhero movies and good remakes. I'm looking forward to King Kong this December and Charlie & Chocolate Factory was quite good. (I'm actually very curious to see Sky High as well) In terms of superhero movies... here's my brief opinion.

Fantastic Four. To me, it did what it set out to do: bring a comic book to life. With a story slightly more similar to the Ultimate version, I thought it was solid. I thought the casting was on point and the movie was a overall very entertaining, and very fun. I enjoyed the FX and comedic timing. Grade: B

The Spidey movies: I thought the first one was okay. I wasn't such a huge fan of Kirsten Dunst, but Tobey was fine enough and William Dafoe was a great GG. However, a guy flying around on a glider seemed silly to me once it hit the big screen. Maybe, that's why I prefer Ultimate GG, he's more psycho and less campy. Spidey1:B+ Now I always said the best superhero movie is the one where you know who is behind the mask. And in Spidey 1, I got a character in a spidey suit. In Spidey2 I saw Peter Parker. Alfred Molina was just brilliant and felt so real. With great comedic moments, solid story, great casting (even Kirsten Dunst wasn't so bad this time), amazing FX, Spidey2 easily took number one spot with an A!.

That's until Batman... well the new one. Now this movie was so brilliantly casted and so beautifully setup I was literally at the edge of my seat. The tension, the drama, everything felt like one huge rollercoaster ride. The comedic moments, although not many, were just enough to keep balance in the emotion. This is the second movie I'm giving A.

X-Men Movies: I remember only a little bit of the first X movie. I though it was okay at the time, I have to re-watch it. But from what I remember, I say it deserved a B-. The casting was the best thing about it. Good fun superhero movie. Nothing much else. Now X2 featured the BEST opening sequence in a superhero movie EVER. And from there you just got hooked. That's why this movie gets a B+.

Hulk: Hmm... this movie had the most impressive CG. I think it's just amazing. It suffered from a drawn out story and terrible cinematography. I won't get into it. C.

Movies to See: Daredevil, Elektra, and Punisher. I'll get around to it. Hopefully sooner than later.

Here are two reviews for the Spiderman 2 game and Prince of Persia Sands of Time...
Tomorrow, Harry Potter 6 and maybe the games I'm excited for.

What to Expect

Well kids, I've just given in to the blogging phenomena. What will I be talking about? Well, a bunch of things. A lot of it will be reviews of game, movies, comics, etc. I will also spend a lot of my time being excited about things... like new games, movies, comics, etc. I'll give you previews of that stuff And now the best part, I will reveal little facts of my ten part book detailing the life of Aceun... a character who's story is so grand that it actually does need ten parts to tell. I'll also give you awesome links and talk about completely random stuff. And, I'll talk about comic strip ideas. To tell you the truth, I'll just ramble about anything... See, I'm doing it right now. Well, I'm off to continue work. And I'll try my best to put something new each day. I'll begin the first few days with Summer movie reviews. I'll also review Burnout 3, and give you the links to my review of Spider-man 2 (the game), as well as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Like I said, I just started, I got a lot to learn. We'll see what happens. Spades Out!
