Harry Potter and the Gobble Gobble

Let's play catch up. In the past couple of weeks I have been through what you would call a lot. Now, this means nothing because what's in store for these next couple of days intensifies the madness by an unbearable 1000%. But let's begin shall we:

Hustle & Flow was an amazing movie that took me back home almost immediately. I enjoyed the sense of brotherhood and the sense of coming back to your home. Sankofa is a symbol that represents going back home. We are expected to get on top, but we must never forget the ones who put us there.

SHEBA! The Fall Show: "In the Mix" is coming up and I am more than excited. It happens this wednesday! We have worked so hard to get to this point and all that hard work is going to pay off. Although, I was quite annoyed in the last week before this vacation because we had intense practice EVERY day. Was it worth it? We'll see.

The Vacation! This is where we are now. I was so excited to see Harry Potter but then found myself disappointed. My vacation began with the Goblet of Fire being a Goblet of Dull Flames. There were a few exciting moments in the book that didn't happen in the movie and I was very displeased with the characterization of a few characters, specifically Dumbledore. The direction seemed all over the place and it just lacked in so many ways. And now I end my short vacation with Harry Potter yet again. In the second outing, the movie was so much more. There was a great subtlety to the entire movie and it came together so well. Despite missing story elements and a terrible Dumbledore, it was a very good movie, with well timed humor and unique storytelling. Also in this vacation I did SHEBA shopping, caught up in comics (there was a great Ultimate X-Men story), and most importantly spend time with family and friends. There was fantabulous dinner, games, dancing, and I had a blast.

In these next three to four days I am probably going to die or go insane with work, the show, and everything else. After it's over though, I am home free. On the emotional scale, I've been on sort of a middle school drama rollercoaster. Girls are funny creatures. Fo' all the fanz! Fo Shiz! I'll smell you laterz!
